Myndos Gate is one of the gates built on the city walls, which were 7 kilometers long, constructed in the 4th century BC by Mausolus, the Satrap of Caria. It was named Myndos Gate because it opens to the road leading to Gümüşlük, the ancient city of Myndos. Another gate, the Mylasa Gate, has unfortunately not survived to the present day.
